We will start with Portobello market in the vibrant district of Notting Hill. It is the largest British antiques market, famous for its colourful houses and its variety of food, clothes, music and other diverse bric-a-brac. Holland Park Next have a walk to Holland Park and take the time to admire the beautiful Orangery and Japanese Garden. If you fancy it, you can also visit the Design Museum, and appreciate exhibitions on fashion, architecture, graphics and digital design.
Hyde Park is probably one of the greatest city parks in the world. It covers an area of 142 hectares, offers over 4000 trees, a large lake and ornamental flower gardens. When you get there, dip your toes in the Diana Memorial Fountain, rent a boat on the Serpentine and stroll alongside the Rose Garden.
You couldn’t visit London without saying hello to the Queen! Walk down to Buckingham palace and explores its majestic interiors. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard ceremony at 11AM and walk through the palace gardens.
Westminster Abbey was initially founded in 960AD by Benedictine monks, but the church we see today was first constructed by Henry III in 1245. It has been the final resting place of 17 monarchs and is one of the most important Gothic buildings in the country.
Next step: the emblematic Big Ben. Technically, Big Ben is the name given to the massive bell inside the clock tower, which weighs more than 13 tons. It was created in 1859 to be the largest clock in the world, and is today the must-see London attraction.
If you go to London, don’t miss out Trafalgar Square! London’s most iconic public spaces and perhaps the most ostentatious reminder of the nation’s former imperial might, commemorating Britain’s triumph in the Napoleonic Wars.
At the top of Trafalgar square, stands the National Gallery of London. From Leonardo da Vinci to Van Gogh, the museum houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings and Masterpieces, from mid-13th to 20th century.
Now head up to Covent Garden! Street performers, local food, casual taverns, art museums, and opera houses share the famous market place. And if you fancy some shopping, we bet you’re gonna spend some time (and money) in this wonderful area!
